Subject: National Institute of Health Resolution - Former HR 61
 
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce Former House Resolution 61, which calls upon Congress to increase the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) funding by 6.7% in each of the next three years.

Our Pennsylvania Universities have benefited from NIH funding which has been a prime factor in promoting local research. These research dollars have been incorporated into start-up companies around the state.

At a time when world competition is increasing, these NIH dollars are critical to continuing the expansion of our biotech industry.
