Subject: | Co-Sponsor - Designating the Piper J-3 Cub as Official State Aircraft |
In the coming weeks, I will be re-introducing former House Bill 64 designating the Piper J-3 Cub as the official aircraft in the Commonwealth. The Piper J-3 Cub is a small aircraft recognizable by its famous yellow fuselage and black trim. It was built exclusively in Lock Haven, Clinton County between 1937 and 1947 by Piper Aircraft. The aircraft was modified and used by the United States Armed Forces during World War II for reconnaissance and as a hedgehopper during combat. If you have any questions, please contact Alycia Laureti via e-mail at alaureti@pahouse.net or via phone at 2-2283.
