Subject: | DGS Land Conveyance (Former HB 455) |
One of the functions we are routinely called upon to do is to approve the sale of real estate by the Commonwealth. It is important that, as Representatives, the Department of General Services provide enough information so that we, as Representatives, are confident in our vote. I am introducing legislation to require that DGS obtain (1) two appraisals, (2) identify any known environmental conditions (3) require an application which contains the name of the applicant, its officers, partners, or trustees, identifies anyone with an ownership interest including affiliates, intermediaries, subsidiaries, and holding companies and the intended use. In order to prevent the intended use from being different than the actual use, my legislation provides a right of revision in the deed.
