Subject: | Direct Shipment of Wine (Prior HB 845 as Amended) |
This legislation would allow for the direct shipment of wine into the Commonwealth. Any out-of-state winery that wishes to ship wine to consumers located within Pennsylvania must first obtain a direct shipper’s permit from the PLCB. The winery may then ship any quantity of wine into the Commonwealth, directly to a consumer who is at least 21 years of age. The winery will be required to collect the 6% sales tax and the 18% Johnstown Flood Tax and remit these taxes to the Department of Revenue. Please feel free to contact Christine Crone at 717-783-9087, if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance for your consideration and support. Attachment: CS/cmc |
