Subject: | THE PENSION CRISIS / CASINO ENTRANCE FEE |
Pennsylvania’s pension crisis has been in the news for the past year; and finding solutions has been difficult. However, my proposal to provide additional funding to the Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) and the State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS) has merit. I am proposing that each casino patron pay a $2 entrance fee (formerly House Bill 2225). To accomplish this mission, the casinos could put in place turn stalls with meters. The money collected would be divided evenly between the two State pension funds. I hope you will consider this common sense approach as we deal with the pension crisis. |
