MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 4, 2013 10:48 AM
From: Representative John D. Payne
To: All House members
Subject: Liquor Control Board Initiatives - Sunday Sales, Customer Relations Marketing Program and Increase Fines

I plan to introduce in the near future to amend the Liquor Code.

My legislation would do three things:
  • It would allow the PLCB to open as many stores on Sundays as they deem necessary; and, these stores would be open until 9 pm as opposed to the 5 pm closing time they currently have.
  • My legislation would allow the PLCB to implement and establish a customer relations marketing program which would allow them to offer incentives, such as coupons and discounts, to their customers.
  • Finally, it would increase the range of fines for minor violations of the Liquor Code to between $100 and $2000. It would also increase the fines for major violations to between $5000 and $10,000.

Introduced as HB190
