Subject: Satellite TV Service Contracts - Former HB 1168
 
In the future I will reintroduce legislation to amend the Consumer Protection and Unfair Trade Practices Act (Act 387 of 1968) to require that satellite TV providers give notice to consumers, who enter into a service contract, list all terms and conditions as well as listing the specific viewing channels included with the subscription package. Many consumers are unaware that certain local programming may not be available as part of their subscription package.
This legislation would strengthen Pennsylvania's consumer protection laws.
