| Subject: | Organ and Bone Marrow Donation Tax Credit - Former HB 1164 |
| I plan to re-introduce legislation which amends the act of July 2, 2006 (P.L. 292, No. 65), relates to organ and bone marrow donation tax credits. This legislation extends Act 65 of 2005 which expired in 2010 and is a major piece of legislation that encourages and further makes possible the donation of organ and bone marrow from living donors. As you are aware, the loss of wages has been a deterrent in this life saving process and this bill would eliminate that huge obstacle. This is the number one priority of the American Transplant Congress which is comprised of transplant physicians and people concerned with their importance. The House passed this bill unanimously during the past several sessions.
