Subject: Dedicated Funding for the Pennsylvania Sunshine Solar Program
 
When we return to session, I intend to introduce legislation that would provide a dedicated funding source for the Pennsylvania Sunshine Solar Program. This extremely popular program was created in 2008 and funded with a $100 million bond. It is currently out of funds.

This legislation would provide the program $25 million per year. Residential homeowners, small business and non-profits who install solar systems would be eligible for a rebate of up to 10% of the cost of the system.

Funding for the program would come from the initial off the top distributions of Act 13 of 2012, otherwise known as the Marcellus Impact Fee.
