Subject: Report on Campus Racial Harassment and Discrimination
 
In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution directing the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study on the impact of racial harassment and discrimination experienced by students enrolled in the Commonwealth’s publicly funded postsecondary institutions and to report those findings and recommendations to the General Assembly.
 

Our resolution would direct the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study and report back to the General Assembly on recommendations regarding the elimination of racism on the Commonwealth’s college campuses.
 

At a minimum, the report should address: 
 

  • Comparing and analyzing responses to racial harassment in different educational settings. 
  • Identifying and analyzing prevention and response policies of different educational settings relating to racial harassment.
