| Subject: | Disabled Veteran Hunting Event Permits |
| In the near future, I plan to re-introduce SB1005 PN1310 of 2022 (Pittman) to require the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) to issue Military Event License Exemptions and Permits to provide for disabled veterans’ rehabilitation and/or enjoyment. Purple Heart recipients and disabled veterans will be exempt from license and permit fee requirements while participating in PGC-permitted events. These events will be held on private land with the express approval of the landowner, and would not unduly impact PGC resources or impose significant costs. All permit holders will be subject to normal reporting requirements and bag limits. Veterans have sacrificed tremendously for the freedoms we all enjoy, so removing financial and logistical roadblocks to aid in their physical and mental wellbeing is important. Prior co-sponsors include: Sens. Pittman, Street, Bartolotta, Fontana, J. Ward, Scavello, Robinson, Costa, Gebhard, Brooks, Dush, Aument, Yudichak, Baker, Mastriano, and Stefano.
