Subject: | World IVF Day – July 25, 2024 |
Globally, approximately 1 in 6 people experience infertility in their lifetime. Many couples around the world rely on assisted reproductive technology, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), to make their dreams of starting a family a reality. We all may know family members, neighbors, coworkers and friends who turned to IVF after struggling to conceive. I’ve experienced the joy provided to both family and friends after IVF helped to start or complete their families. On July 25, 1978, the first baby was conceived and successfully born through IVF, offering new hope and optimism for countless families. Since this historic event, millions of babies have been brought into the world through IVF, a method of conception that has proven to be safe and effective. As such, July 25th is annually observed as “World IVF Day” to commemorate this remarkable milestone and acknowledge the significant progress made in the field of fertility treatment, ultimately making the impossible possible. Please join me in supporting ethically conducted IVF and celebrating families' dreams becoming reality by recognizing July 25, 2024, as “World IVF Day” in Pennsylvania. |
