Subject: Fire Grant Program Extension
 
As Policy Chair, I have convened hearing after hearing listening to our firefighters sound the alarm about chronic underfunding, lack of training opportunities, increases in population, and skyrocketing costs.

I was thrilled to hear Governor Shapiro finally make funding a priority for these brave heroes who do so much to keep us safe, and I think we can afford to do even more. Join me in reauthorizing our Fire Company grant program which will expire in 2024 without action and increase the current funding level to $75 million. It’s literally the least we can do to support and grow our fire companies.
