Subject: Reduced Registration for Fire and EMS
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to reduce the annual registration fee for volunteer fire and volunteer EMS to $11.

Under current law, volunteer fire and volunteer EMS are not provided with a reduced fee for annual registration. I believe that our volunteers should be afforded this reduced fee that is currently provided to certain qualifying retired seniors and other volunteer groups, such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army. It is important to recognize and support the services that our volunteer fire and volunteer EMS provide daily in the Commonwealth. This $11 fee would apply to only one passenger car or truck with a weight of no more than 9,000 lbs.

Please consider cosponsoring this important legislation that will provide our volunteer fire and volunteer EMS a reduced registration fee.
