Subject: | Pennsylvania Opportunity Pathways Program (Prior HB2176) |
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce House Bill 2176, from the 2021-2022 Legislative Session. This legislation will establish the Pennsylvania Opportunity Pathways Program. The Opportunity Pathways Program will enable qualifying schools to apply for grants to fund mentorship programs that encourage students to pursue careers in public service, such as law enforcement, nursing, education, and legal careers. The grants, utilizing funds made available through the current EITC program, will focus on schools in need, as well as schools with students who are demographically underrepresented in various public service career fields. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation to provide underrepresented students, and students from schools in need, the opportunity to launch careers that serve the public good and the citizens of our Commonwealth. I look forward to working with you on this important legislation. Prior cosponsors of HB2176 are: MERCURI, N. NELSON, CIRESI, STRUZZI AND GLEIM |
Introduced as HB1370
