Subject: | Incentivizing Green Driving |
As global temperatures continue to rise, we already see the catastrophic effects of climate change. These come in the form of more extreme weather such as devastating hurricanes, ferocious wildfires, and widespread flooding. As our environment is deteriorating at an accelerated rate, there are certain steps we can take to mitigate the damage. Vehicle emissions are one of the biggest contributors to climate change, and green driving offers a way for individuals to help mitigate their impact on the environment. One of the biggest actions an individual can take is driving a zero emission vehicle. Zero emission vehicles are electric or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that have zero harmful tailpipe emissions and are 98 percent cleaner than the average new-year vehicle. To encourage the switch to zero emission vehicles, I will introduce two bills:
While more can be done to mitigate climate change, switching to zero emission vehicles is a great and impactful start. I encourage you to co-sponsor these bills and help take a step toward building a greener, more sustainable Pennsylvania. |
