Subject: | Military and Disabled Veteran Hunting Event Permit |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to require the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Game Commission to issue Military and Disabled Veteran Event Permits. These permits will exempt Purple Heart recipients and disabled veterans with a disability rating of 30% or more who are participating in a specified hunting event for the purposes of rehabilitation or enjoyment from licensing requirements and fees. Veterans have made a tremendous sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy and removing financial and logistical concerns so they may participate in these events is the least we can do. The MDVE permit will only be authorized for use on privately owned lands within the Commonwealth. All permit holders will be subjected to normal reporting requirements and bag limits. Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation honoring Pennsylvania’s disabled veterans. If you have any questions, please contact Ben Bush, of my staff, at 724-357-0151 or at bbush@pasen.gov. |
