Subject: | COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program – Breweries, Wineries, and Distilleries |
The COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (CHIRP) has been an important lifeline for hospitality businesses across the Commonwealth. However, some breweries, wineries, and distilleries that do not have eating and drinking on the premises were excluded due to their NAICS code. My bill addresses this circumstance. It is time we ensure all of Pennsylvania’s breweries, wineries, and distilleries are able to receive a helping hand during this trying time. For this reason, I am introducing legislation that would allow alcohol producers in the Commonwealth to be eligible for grants even if they do not provide accommodations where food or drink is served or provided for the public. In doing so, we can ensure all of Pennsylvania’s local alcohol producers are eligible to receive grants under CHIRP. I hope you join with me and support this legislation. We have amazing breweries, wineries, and distilleries in Pennsylvania, we need to stand with them during this difficult time and protect these institutions. |
