Subject: House Rule Amendment on Resolutions
 
This is resolution would provide a restricted use of Resolutions and provide members of the House the ability to speak on issues prior to and after Session.
 
 Resolutions would be restricted to:
 (1) Concurrent or Joint Resolutions
 (2) Condolence Resolutions for:
       (a) Former member of the House of Representatives
       (b) Line of duty fatality of a Firefighter, Police Officer, EMT, Fire Police Officer, or a member of the armed services.
 
Further, the resolution would provide the Speaker or someone the Speaker designates the ability to offer members five-minute speeches an hour prior to Session beginning or directly before adjournment of Session.
 
Please join me in streamlining our Session time and refocusing Session to salient policy debates while ensuring we can recognize the tragic loss of life of our public servants while in service to the public.
