Subject: | State Board Licensing Reform |
We will be introducing legislation that will provide additional recourse to victims of cases that are heard before any of our state’s licensing boards. Specifically, the legislation requires a defendant/respondent to appear in person for any scheduled hearing that is being held before a licensing board, commission or hearing examiner. In addition, the victim or anyone directly affected by the defendant/respondent’s actions or wrongdoing, would have the opportunity to provide a victim’s statement to the board. Our proposed legislation would close a gap that currently exists in law, as it relates to consumer protection. We encourage you to consider co-sponsoring this importation piece of legislation. |
