More parents are utilizing the services of child care providers than ever before. It is imperative that a safe and nurturing environment is created where child care workers are fully accountable.

All reasonable efforts should be made to ensure that qualified and trustworthy individuals are providing quality care, that protocols are being followed and that children are not being abused or neglected. With this in mind, my bill would require child care centers and family child care homes to install and maintain video camera surveillance systems as established by regulations implemented by the Department of Human Services.
