Subject: | Sewer Sludge / Biosolid Material |
In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation (previous HB 2281) regarding the regulation of sewer sludge. Specifically, the legislation I am proposing would permit a municipality to develop ordinances regulating the deposit, testing, and disposal or land application of biosolid materials. Additionally, this legislation would permit a municipality to veto a permit application approved by the Department of Environmental Protection for the deposit, or land application of this material. The land application of sewer sludge has been of particular concern to the residents of my legislative district for a long time. Consequently, it is my intent, through this legislation, to provide for more direct local control over the deposition of this material. Please consider joining me in co-sponsoring this legislation. Thank you. Previous Cosponsors: EMRICK, McGINNIS, HELM, HEFFLEY, RADER and HAHN |
