House of Representatives
Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 7, 2013 10:42 AM
From: Representative Mark M. Gillen
To: All House members
Subject: Cosponsorship - Increase Funding to EITC

When the new legislative session begins, I will introduce legislation that automatically increases the amount of funding available to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Last year, on a bipartisan basis, the General Assembly was successful in increasing the total funding available to $100 million. My legislation would build upon that success and the universal support of this program by increasing the funding by $10 million each year, or adjusted to inflation, whichever is greater.

The EITC program has enabled families, schools, and businesses to partner together to create the best educational opportunities for our children. Pennsylvania should continue to support such successful programs.

If you have questions, please contact Michelle Clabaugh in my office at mclabaug@pahousegop.com or 787-8550.
