Subject: Streamlining the deployment of broadband infrastructure
 
Pennsylvanians need improved access to high-speed Internet now more than ever. I will soon be introducing legislation to streamline the deployment of broadband infrastructure.

Expediting the deployment of the “hard wiring” aspect of the process, while ensuring the safety of Pennsylvania’s utility networks, will help accelerate the availability of high-speed internet access across the Commonwealth.

High-speed internet is delivered to Pennsylvanians through wireline and wireless broadband infrastructure.Wireless broadband service relies on “wired” facilities that are installed either aerially or underground. Connecting more Pennsylvanians to high-speed internet depends on the timely deployment of broadband infrastructure, especially high-speed, high-capacity fiber backhaul lines.

I hope that you’ll join me in sponsoring this important legislation and help connect more Pennsylvanians to reliable high-speed internet.
