Subject: | Resolution designating the month of October as "Veterans of Afghanistan Month" |
In the near future, we will offer a resolution to designate the month of October as “Veterans of Afghanistan Month” in honor of Pennsylvania’s Afghanistan veterans. Tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians served in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). These heroic men and women held the line for twenty years in the aftermath of 9/11 and defended our nation. Nearly 100 of Pennsylvania's best and brightest gave the last full measure of devotion during combat operations in Afghanistan. In light of recent events, it is important that we pause and remember the veterans of our commonwealth who paid the ultimate sacrifice as well as those who were wounded and now wear the scars of battle after serving in America’s longest war. We hope you will join us in co-sponsoring this resolution. |
