In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation amending Title 65 (Public Officers) prohibiting nepotism in the hiring practices in the following offices: Judicial officer Executive level State employee - Member of the Governor's Cabinet Legislator – member of the Senate or House of Representatives A legislator, judicial officer or executive-level State employee may not appoint, employ, promote, advance or advocate for appointment, employment, promotion or advancement of an immediate family to a position in which the legislator, judicial officer or executive-level State employee is elected, sworn and seated. Nor may a member of a legislator, judicial officer or executive-level State employee’s immediate family be appointed, employed, promoted, or advanced to a position in the respective legislative chamber, court, or executive branch/department to which they are elected, appointed, sworn and seated.
