Subject: | Legalizing Fireworks |
In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation that would further legalize the sale and use of consumer fireworks for Pennsylvanians, in Pennsylvania. Currently, consumer fireworks can be sold to out of state customers and Pennsylvania residents who obtain a permit from their local municipality. Our legislation would simply remove the permit requirement to give Pennsylvanians the same convenience currently offered to out of state customers. Our legislation will also levy an excise tax on all consumer and novelty fireworks. These revenues will be directed to fund EMS providers and fire company programs. Please join us in sponsoring this legislation. If you have any questions, please contact Carlton Logue clogue@pasen.gov, Mike Rader mrader@pasen.gov, or Nick Troutman at ntroutman@pasen.gov. |
