Subject: | Registration-Exempt Farm Vehicles |
In the near future we intend to introduce a bill amending Title 75 (Vehicles – Section 6103) that will restore the exemption to registration-exempt farm vehicles from intrastate motor carrier safety regulations. As the law previously read, this exemption existed in full. However, changes to the Code in 2010 and 2012 respectively resulted in the exemption being entirely overturned and later partially reversed to exempt only farm vehicle drivers, but not registration-exempt farm vehicles. In short, this amendment restores an exemption that previously existed in Title code 75, Section 6103. The Federal MAP-21 Act ensures Pennsylvania will not lose federal funds if these exceptions are restored. If you have any question regarding this bill, please contact Mike Rader at 787-3076. |
