We will soon be reintroducing a resolution honoring the life of Evelyn R. Stypula. Ms. Stypula, from western Pennsylvania, was one of the Commonwealth’s leading advocates for people with disabilities and served the Commonwealth as the Acting Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities. Ms. Stypula was also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Allegheny County 365 Committee, the Three Rivers Center for Independent Living, United Cerebral Palsy of Pittsburgh, and founder/President of Big Heart Bridges, a group to support those with disabilities. Amongst her many accomplishments, Ms. Stypula assisted in the creation of Pennsylvania's ACCESS Para-Transit system for people with disabilities in Allegheny County.
