Please join me in sponsoring legislation introduced as S.B. 861 in the 2011-2012 legislative session by Senators COSTA, SOLOBAY, VOGEL, WOZNIAK, WASHINGTON, WHITE, KITCHEN, LEACH, KASUNIC, STACK, FONTANA, GREENLEAF, YUDICHAK, BOSCOLA, BAKER, BROWNE, HUGHES, TARTAGLIONE, ERICKSON, WILLIAMS, BREWSTER and WARD. The legislation would exempt veterans’ disability benefits as eligible income under certain programs. Under the bill, veterans’ disability benefits cannot be deemed income under the following acts: Senior Citizen Property Tax and Rent Rebate Assistance (Act 1), PACE/PACENET and Section 1901 of the Vehicle Code (Exemption of persons, entities and vehicles from fees). I hope you will join me in sponsoring this legislation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. |
