Subject: May 2024 as Nurses Month in Pennsylvania
 
Nurses are the backbone of our health care system in Pennsylvania, having put their lives on the line to serve their fellow Pennsylvanians during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The work nurses do is irreplaceable. Evidence shows that a strong nursing workforce increases access to health care, reduces health disparities along socioeconomic and racial lines, and improves the health and wellness of our communities.
 
In order to demonstrate the appreciation of the Commonwealth for this vital job, we will be introducing a resolution to designate May 2024 as “Nurses Month” in Pennsylvania.
 
Every day nurses work long shifts to protect the health of our family members, neighbors, and fellow Pennsylvanians. Please join us in co-sponsoring this legislation to honor nurses’ important work.
