MEMORANDUM

Posted: October 27, 2023 02:55 PM
From: Representative Robert Leadbeter and Rep. Joanne Stehr, Rep. Michael Stender
To: All House members
Subject: Recognizing April 28, 2023, as “Knoebels Amusement Resort Day in PA”

In the near future, I, along with Rep. Joanne Stehr and Rep. Michael Stender plan to introduce a resolution that will recognize April 28, 2023 as “Knoebels Amusement Resort Day in Pennsylvania.”
Knoebels Amusement Resort was opened by the Knoebel family in 1926, and at the time consisted only of a swimming pool and a steam-powered carousel. Over the course of the last 97 years, the fourth-generation family-owned business has expanded and grown to include: 64 rides, 28 games, 24 gift shops, 14 attractions, 2 arcades, 34 food & beverage locations, a Crystal Pool, two campgrounds, and a golf course.
Despite experiencing devastating flooding in 1972, 1976, 1996, 2004, 2006, and 2011, Knoebels has always come back better than ever, and continues to serve the approximately 1.4 million guests that visit it each year.
Knoebels Amusement Resort is America’s largest free-admission amusement park and offers free parking, free entertainment, and free picnic facilities.
Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution.

Thank you.
