Subject: Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency Resolution
 
I will be introducing a resolution urging the United States Department of Defense, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), to continue its work to identify the remains of missing service members and provide support to their families.  The recent identification and homecoming of Army Sergeant Richard M. Sharrow, who went missing during the Korean War, is a testament to the significant impact of DPAA’s efforts.  He was buried with full military honors in Marienville, Pennsylvania, on September 25, 2023.  Supporting this resolution not only encourages DPAA to continue providing the fullest possible accounting for our missing service members but also serves as a heartfelt thank you to the agency.  It is also a powerful reminder of the more than 81,000 Americans who are still unaccounted for.  Please join me in doing our utmost to bring home our POW/MIA service members by cosponsoring this important resolution.
