Subject: Institutional License waiver
 
In the very near future, I intend to introduce legislation which would preserve the COVID-19 regulatory waiver that allows physicians with an institutional license in a teaching hospital to serve patients at more than just two facilities in a given health system.

Throughout the pandemic, this waiver has allowed our health systems with teaching facilities to deploy physicians throughout the health system, rather than at only two of its facilities, at a time when clinician shortages exist in every hospital in the nation.  We should make this waiver permanent, but now more than at any time, flexibility like this is critical to help our caregivers do the important work of saving lives wherever needed.
