Subject: | Celebrating Hispanic Heritage |
We in Pennsylvania and in the United States draw our strength from the extraordinary diversity of our people and their cultural customs. It’s what unites us as Americans. This is especially true for Latinos and our rich history in helping to shape society.
Latinos are the largest minority ethnic group in the United States today, with about 975,000 residing in the Commonwealth in 2018 based on Census population estimates. Hispanic Americans have shown their devotion to this country and have made valuable contributions through business, industry, politics, education, sciences, sports and the arts.
Please join me in celebrating culture and diversity, honoring Hispanic Americans and acknowledging the incredible contributions they have made to this Commonwealth by designating September 15, 2019 through October 15, 2019 as “Hispanic Heritage Month” in Pennsylvania.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
