Subject: | Resololution Recognizing FIRST Tech Challenge and Javengers Robotics Team |
Next week, I will be introducing a resolution that recognizes FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and the efforts of these local teams to promote STEM in minority and women's groups that may lack appropriate representation in the STEM industry. FIRST Tech Challenge is designed for students in grades 7–12 to compete head to head, by designing, building and programming a robot to compete in an alliance format against other teams. FTC is an international robotics competition sponsored by the not-for-profit organization FIRST (“For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology”) and encompasses robotic teams in many legislative districts throughout the Commonwealth. This resolution also recognizes the Javengers robotics team, an FTC team located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and comprised of team members from both Cumberland and Dauphin Counties. Please consider co-sponsoring this resolution in support of FIRST Tech Challenge and the Javengers robotics team. |
