Session of 2019 - 2020 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 5, 2019 11:11 AM
From: Representative Louis C. Schmitt, Jr.
To: All House members
Subject: Repealer - five bill package that will repeal antiquated acts

Our Commonwealth has thousands of regulations on the books. Many of these acts were enacted several decades ago and are simply archaic and are no longer applicable in the 21st century. In addition, the existence of these outdated laws contributes to the already complex and confusing nature of government.
To help clean up our laws, I plan to introduce a five-bill package that will repeal some of these antiquated acts. By doing so, we will be providing the citizens of this Commonwealth with a more transparent and streamlined rule of law.

The proposals in this package will repeal:
  • #1 Appropriations to Farmers’ High School (Act 658 of 1857)
  • #2 Drugs as Evidence (Act 328 of 1921)
  • #3 Establishment of Municipal Hospitals (Act 5968 of 1929)
  • #4 Female Labor Law (Act 466 of 1913)
  • #5 Settlement of Public Accounts (Act 99 of 1811)
