Subject: | Resolution Honoring the Lives and Memory of the Puerto Rican Service Members Killed in the Noncombat-Related Military Plane Crash on May 2, 2018. |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution honoring the lives and memory of the nine Puerto Rican service members who were killed in the noncombat-related military plane crash in Georgia on May 2, 2018. The crash and deaths of these airmen bring the total number of noncombat-related wrecks of military aircraft to seven resulting in 27 United States service member deaths so far this year. The nine service members were flying the plane, a WC-130 attached to the Puerto Rico Air National Guard 156th Airlift Wing, from Georgia to Arizona to be decommissioned when it crashed shortly after takeoff. The plane was used in relief efforts for several hurricanes in the Caribbean, including both Irma and Maria during the 2017 hurricane season. Please join me in honoring these service members and offering condolences to their families. Thank you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact my Harrisburg office at 717-705-1925. |
