Subject: | Youth 2 Youth: Partners 4 Peace Week in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution to recognize the week of September 18 through 22, 2017 as Youth 2 Youth: Partners 4 Peace Week in Pennsylvania. In 1964 the United states Department of Labor established Job Corps to achieve the goal of providing hands on training to low-income students in America’s fastest growing careers. Job Corps is the nation’s largest technical training program for students between 16 and 24 years of age. Youth 2 Youth: Partners 4 Peace, is a violence prevention initiative created and led by Job Corps students. Y2Y has four main goals: Talk openly about violence, aggression, and bullying Learn how peers have been affected by youth violence Empower one another to make a difference Explore solutions for the future Please join me in in recognizing the importance of this program and showing appreciation for the students at Job Corps that participate in this initiative. The four Pennsylvania Job Corps are located at: Keystone 235 W.
