Subject: | Resolution commemorating the mass shootings of police officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge |
In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution commemorating the mass shootings of police officers in Dallas, Texas on July 7th, 2016 and in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 17th, 2016. This resolution honors the memory of those police officers who were killed in the line of duty as a result of targeted attacks against law enforcement this month. The shootings left five law enforcement officers dead and nine wounded in Dallas, and three dead and three wounded in Baton Rouge. These attacks mark a startling trend of pre-meditated violence against law enforcement. We must come together to restore support and build stronger community relationships with police to ensure this trend does not continue. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to demonstrate Pennsylvania’s support for Dallas, Baton Rouge, and Police departments everywhere as they continue to grieve and heal. |
