Subject: Sober Recovery House Resolution
 
Sober housing to support people who are in recovery from alcohol or other drug addiction is a concern for many of our local municipalities. Assuring the health, safety, and best interests of public clients and the communities in which they live is of paramount importance. There are at least three federal laws that impact sober housing.

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution memorializing Congress to examine the issue of sober housing as it relates to existing federal law, notably the Fair Housing Act, the Fair Housing Amendments Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

I urge you to consider joining me in cosponsorship of this worthy resolution.
