Subject: | Resolution Honoring Felix "Tito" Trinidad |
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution honoring Felix “Tito” Trinidad for his contributions to the sport of boxing and congratulating him on his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Trinidad, a retired professional boxer, is considered one of the greatest boxers in Puerto Rico's history. A durable fighter with a legendary left hook, Tito established himself as an all-time great by scoring victories over Hector Camacho, Yory Boy Campas, Oba Carr, Rodney Moore, Freddie Pendleton, Pernell Whitaker and Oscar De La Hoya. With fifteen successful defenses, twelve by knockout, Tito holds the record for second most welterweight title defenses and the record for longest reign as Welterweight Champion—six years, eight months and fourteen days. On Wednesday, June 4, 2014, Tito will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, becoming the tenth Puerto Rican to receive such an honor. Please join me in congratulating Tito on this momentous achievement by co-sponsoring my resolution. Thank you in advance for your consideration. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact my Harrisburg office at 717-705-1925. |
