MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 9, 2014 11:49 AM
From: Representative Nicholas A. Micozzie
To: All House members
Subject: Repeal of May 28, 1943 Act Authorizing the Commonwealth to Adopt County Roads at the Resolution of County Commissioners

In the near future, I will introduce legislation which repeals a redundant law from May 28, 1943.

The current law allows county highways, at the resolution of the county commissioners, to become a state road. The construction and repair of the adopted road is maintained at the expense of the Commonwealth. This law, however, only applies to county roads constructed before May 28, 1943 and does not apply to any bridges or viaducts.

My legislation would repeal this entire provision of the law, because the law is redundant to the State Highway Law, an act of 1945.

Thank you for your consideration.

Introduced as HB2366
