MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 22, 2013 02:39 PM
From: Representative Karen Boback
To: All House members
Subject: Designation of May 2013 as "Honor & Remember Month" in Pennsylvania

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that would designate May 2013 as “Honor and Remember Month” in Pennsylvania.

In 2011, I introduced Act 19 which recognized the Honor and Remember Flag as an official symbol of the Commonwealth which honors and remembers the courageous men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have given their lives in the line of duty since the Revolutionary War. The act also requires the Department of General Services to place the flag on the grounds of the State Capitol, which can be seen flying over Soldier’s Grove.

To further recognize these men and women, I plan to propose a resolution that will designate May 2013 as Honor and Remember Month in Pennsylvania. These brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives for our country deserve the utmost recognition for their ultimate sacrifice.

It is my hope that this resolution will encourage citizens, businesses, schools, organizations and the media to take the time to recognize and remember the sacrifice of all our fallen heroes.

Please join me in sponsoring this legislation.
