Subject: "National Travel & Tourism Week" and "Tourism Day" Resolution
 
I am planning to introduce a resolution recognizing the week of May 4-12, 2013, as "National Travel and Tourism Week" and May 6, 2013 as "Tourism Day" in Pennsylvania.

Tourism is the state's second-largest industry, supporting over 461,000 jobs and generating $39 billion in economic impact from 185 million visits by leisure and business travelers. Many small businesses are invovled in the tourism industry, and the hotels, restaurants, bed-and breakfasts and attractions they run constitute an important and vital segment of local economies across the state.

I invite you to join me in cosponsoring this resolution. Thank you.
