Subject: | out-of-state Wine Festival Participation |
Currently, out-of-state wineries are prohibited from participating in wine festivals within the Commonwealth. Therefore, I am introducing legislation to amend the Pennsylvania Liquor Code, to allow out-of-state wineries that produce no more than 200,000 barrels of wine per year, and who have reciprocity with the Commonwealth of PA to obtain a special permit ($30/per day not to exceed five consecutive days, or forty days in any calendar year), therefore granting them access to participate in such. Please note this is a reintroduction of former HB 839 with amended language to include “reciprocity”. Meaning if our state wineries do not have access to participate in X-state, then they cannot participate within ours. Former Cosponsors include: BARRAR , EVERETT , FABRIZIO , GODSHALL and PYLE. I appreciate your consideration and support. Please direct any questions to Christine Crone at; ccrone@pahousegop.com. Thank you. CS/cmc |
