MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 29, 2023 02:27 PM
From: Senator Anthony H. Williams
To: All Senate members
Subject: Recognizing Pennsylvania Economic Development Week

I will be introducing a resolution recognizing April 16, 2023, through April 22, 2023, as PENNSYLVANIA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WEEK in Pennsylvania.

Initiatives that spark economic development are vital to creating and retaining jobs for Pennsylvanians and the creation of new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs is a key component to securing the Commonwealth’s economic future for generations to come.

Pennsylvania is committed to fostering a business-friendly climate that will attract employers, enable the state to remain competitive, and generate new jobs for our citizens. The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development is committed to providing quality resources that boost economic growth.

Likewise, members of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association are dedicated to serving the needs of the business community through services such as: business and job retention efforts; site location assistance; international business development; new business development; business financing; infrastructure development; and workforce development. These economic development organizations serve as resource centers committed to delivering local, state, and federal resources that will enhance the competitiveness of their regions and contribute to the commonwealth’s economic growth and vitality.

I encourage all citizens to recognize the contributions of economic development organizations and the importance of building and maintaining a strong and prosperous economy which benefits all Pennsylvanians.

Please join me as a co-sponsor of this resolution.
