Subject: Designating January 2024 as “School Director Recognition Month”
 
All over Pennsylvania, 4,500 locally elected school directors carry out a valuable and voluntary public service to support the education of our students. Their leadership plays an important role in the functioning of our public education system, helping their schools support our children’s well-being and setting them up for success. This demanding position carries a significant responsibility to students, parents, district staff, taxpayers, and the community as a whole.
 
The value of the countless hours that school directors volunteer cannot be overstated. In recognition of these selfless contributions, we will be introducing a resolution designating the month of January 2024 as “School Director Recognition Month” in Pennsylvania. This resolution will honor school directors throughout Pennsylvania for this public service and highlight their importance to public education.

Please join us in recognizing this Commonwealth’s school directors by co-sponsoring this resolution.
