Subject: | State Licensing Board Reforms |
I will soon reintroduce legislation to provide additional recourse to victims in cases heard before any of the Commonwealth’s licensing boards. This proposal would ensure that such hearings and their outcomes have the benefit of full information and participation. Specifically, the legislation would require the defendant/respondent to appear – whether in person or via remote participation – for any scheduled hearing held before a licensing board, commission, or hearing examiner. In addition, the victim or anyone directly affected by the defendant/respondent’s actions or wrongdoing would have the opportunity to provide a victim’s statement to the board. This proposal will close a gap in current law as it relates to consumer protection in Pennsylvania. Please consider co-sponsoring this importation piece of legislation. |
