Subject: Resolution recognizing April 16-22, 2023, as "National Volunteer Week"
 
I will be introducing a resolution to recognize the week of April 16 through 22, 2023, as “National Volunteer Week” in Pennsylvania.
 
This resolution seeks to celebrate volunteers and their outstanding work in Pennsylvania. Volunteers are a vital component of this Commonwealth. They have and continue to strengthen our communities by enhancing the overall quality of life for all citizens, including children, seniors, those who are disabled, impoverished, homeless, physically, or mentally ill, or otherwise in need of assistance. Volunteers have the power to make a difference through large and small volunteer actions.
 
The practice of regularly volunteering time to community service projects should be promoted throughout Pennsylvania, as it enriches the lives of both those who receive services and those who volunteer. This resolution will help do just that.
